Rhetoric Can’t Analyze Content of Fiction, While ‘NewView’ DOES Analyze Fiction & Create It

Rhetoric focuses on forms and facts, not fiction. NewView, on the other hand, a system for analyzing and writing essays, can also be used to analyze and create any sort of fiction, such as short stories and novels.

Provo, UT – April 15, 2010 (PressReleasePivot) – Rhetoric is based solely on established forms and can’t be used to analyze or produce short stories or novels. But the Universal Law of NewView does both, and then some, says Bill Drew, CEO of NewView Options.

Rhetoric is not set up to cope with newness, Drew claims: “No matter how expert you become with Rhetoric, if the audience or reader has already heard your story or read it before, then what you create with Rhetoric is a waste. Rhetoric ignores the concept of newness. And what’s old or already familiar just doesn’t do the job. Rhetoric always cops out on content, especially fictional content. Besides, Rhetoric focuses on proving facts, not creating fiction.”

On the other hand, Drew says his Universal Law of NewView is dead-centered on newness. He thinks it’s common sense that something has to change by the end of a story, something has to be different than the beginning. In analyzing fictional stories, Drew claims that NewView provides a system that’s easy to learn for recognizing what is set up as the OldView at the beginning of every story and how it changes to a NewView by the story’s end.

Drew claims, “NewView works in analyzing all stories, whether a short story or a novel. And then in writing fiction, you use the elements of NewView Analysis – strong OldView value statement up front, support / undercutting in the middle, NewView at the end – as a guide for the structure of introducing and developing the OldView and then as the key to leading on to newness at the end of your story.”

When asked what the Universal Law of NewView is, Drew referred to his recently published e-book, The Secret DNA of Writing Essays – And Everything Else ( http://bit.ly/SecretDNABookAmazon ): “In my first Secret DNA book, I introduced the most important thing in any communication: ‘What’s new to the reader / audience’. And I introduced the 5 NewView Options: Reverse, Add, Subtract, Substitute, and Rearrange. In short stories and novels, I also showed how the NewView Reverse Option is what occurs at the end of almost all stories, with sometimes a little help from the other NewView Options.”

Drew said that publications like Cliff Notes can help students understand one specific short story or novel through expert knowledge and reasoning, but that’s it. They don’t teach a system that readers can repeatedly use to interpret and understand other stories. You have to keep going back to Cliff Notes for more of their specialized, expert information on each different story, said Drew.

“That’s where my new e-book, The Secret DNA of Analyzing Short Stories, shines,” Drew claimed. “It teaches you how to use NewView Analysis on all short stories, not just those analyzed in my book. And you can use that same NewView method with novels, though there are some differences – and that’s why I’ll be coming out soon with The Secret DNA of Analyzing Novels.”

According to Drew, there will eventually be a series of Secret DNA books, such as, The Secret DNA of Shakespeare’s Plays, The Secret DNA of Writing Advertising, The Secret DNA of Business Writing, The Secret DNA of Education & Teaching, The Secret DNA of Philosophy, etc.

Drew’s latest e-book, The Secret DNA of Analyzing Short Stories, will be published by April 16th and will be available online as a PDF e-book at http://bit.ly/BuySecretDNABook for $6.50. Drew’s other e-book, The Secret DNA of Writing Essays – And Everything Else, is available online in PDF format from the same website for $12.50, and it’s also available on Amazon.com as a Kindle e-book for $9.50 at http://bit.ly/SecretDNABookAmazon. NewView Essay Services, a computer program that automates the thesis-making process in the Writing Essays e-book, is available at http://bit.ly/SecretDNASoftware on a subscription basis for 3-, 6-, and 12-month terms ($15.50, $20.50, $30.50).
